I’ve been inspired recently by a fellow artist. Her musings triggered something familiar in me, in a spiritual sense.
As a kid, I spent most of my after-school time in the hills of Marin, behind my house, wandering among the ancient oak trees. I had no hesitation to lay on the ground, spread-eagle, and study the light and shadows of the trees. The light rays would sparkle and dance; always changing color and form. I spent hours there.
This feeling of freedom, expression and abandon has inspired my complete focus and absorption into a series of very large oil paintings. They are large so that I can move my entire body to express this feeling.
It’s a spiritual thing. Watch for more…
